Tom Brady will be suspended by Goodell for role in DeflateGate, announcement next week
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS ^ | 5-8-2015 | Gary Myers

Tom Brady will be the highest profile player ever suspended in the 96-year history of the NFL.

Roger Goodell's decision is expected to be announced next week and it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him.

In conversations I've had with several key sources who always have a good sense of what goes on at 345 Park Avenue, there is little doubt Goodell considers Brady's role in DeflateGate a serious violation.

The NFL is convinced, according to sources, that connecting all the dots of the evidence supplied by Wells leads to one conclusion:

Brady cheated.

I didn’t object to it because it isn’t true. What is true is that your team are cheaters. They have repeatedly cheated throughout Bill Bellycheats tenure. They will cheat again. The only question is whether they’ll be caught again, but there is no doubt that if they do, their fans will defend their indefensible cheating.

What's personal in my post?

The Patriots have established a pattern of practice: cheating. This has occurred throughout Bill Bellycheat's tenure. Anybody who loves football does not want this kind of unethical behavior to continue. Not personal. Just professional. Which is what Cheatriot fans are not.

Whenever he does is fine with me. I don’t condone cheating by anyone.

A one year suspension would cost Brady $7,000,000.

The NFL fine for breaking the rule is $25,000.

There is no justification for fining Brady 280 times what the rule book says the fine is..

There are those that say the real reason for the suspension is that Tom Brady snubbed Obama when the Patriots were feted by Obama at the White House and Brady was a no-show.

The NFL is not bound by Due Process, but they are bound by their rules (isn’t that what this is about?).

Under NFL rules, no alteration of the footballs is allowed once they are approved. If a person is found breaking league rules and tampering with the footballs, that person could face up to a $25,000 fine and potentially more discipline.

So how can the league fine Brady $7,0000,000 for an infraction that carries a $25,000 fine?

Gaylord Perry threw the spitter his entire career and is in the HOF

And should not be.

Jerry Rice [also cheated] Also in the HOF.

And should not be.

Barry Bonds: cheated. Should never be in HOF. His "records" should be voided.

Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa: cheated, lied. Should never be in HOF. Their "records" should be voided.

Alex Rodriguez: cheated and lied. Should never be in HOF. His "records" should be voided.

Rodger Clemens: cheated, lied, and committed perjury. Should never be in HOF. His "records" should be voided. He should be in jail.

I could go on and on.

But I won't. It's not hating the Patriots. It's hating cheaters. And everyone should.

"Conservative" ["You know, I'm in Independent. I'm actually an Independent"] "Christian" Tom Brady has shacked-up with various supermodels. Therefore his cheating is justified.

Typical Patriots post. ["Cheating OK, because: Win."]

Yawn.

Come back with an original line of argument.

Have you found any source supporting your original comment that psi stands for “per square inch?”

Have you found any source for your claim that it is inappropriate to refer to an inflation pressure colloquially as pounds [since /in2] is understood?

Find that, then get back to me.

Never made the claim. You have me confused with someone else. You’re the condescending twit who jumped all over that someone else claiming that psi stood for “per square inch.” You were wrong, and like a child you refuse to admit it.

The New England Patriots are probably feeling stupid for releasing Tim Tebow.

I doubt it.

“So how can the league fine Brady $7,0000,000 for an infraction that carries a $25,000.”

The NFL is not a government and is not legally bound by its own rules.

However, if they pop Brady, it will have nothing to with under- inflated balls, they will bust him for not being truthful with investigators.

You have all the detached logic of a 14 year old adolescent boy having a temper tantrum because your team got beat, and you simply don’t have the balls to admit it.

But that is okay. Whatever gets you by.

What are you talking about.

There is zero evidence that Brady was not truthful — only speculation.

Well that confirms it: whether one believes the report fully, or is skeptical of parts, you have no idea what you are talking about.

By the way, the report agrees with my calculations...fully. It has to have at least that basic of credibility.

I think that is silly.

Most likely the NFL is just bowing before the firestorm of the Mob (and the Mob regularly does dangerously destructive ignorant things, as our Founding Fathers noted).

The NFL had a choice of letting the blame fall on someone associated with the Patriots, or on the league offices and officials. They chose someone outside who they could string together an argument that could appear at least plausible and focussed on that, rather than on the consistent examples that the rule was never really adhered to or considered important in regards pressure, and that there was evidence out there that the officials not only disregarded the rule, but participated in violating it.

The NFL was fortunate that there were no more home games, and thus no alternate examples after the hysteria began.

He also said they were weighing the balls, and the weight of the Patrits balls were two pounds light.

He also doesn’t understand that if the Patriots and the Colts balls had a total pressure of 12.5-13.5 PSI at the start of the game at Gillette Stadium, then sticking a needle in a ball would INFLATE it.
