Tom Brady will be suspended by Goodell for role in DeflateGate, announcement next week
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS ^ | 5-8-2015 | Gary Myers

Tom Brady will be the highest profile player ever suspended in the 96-year history of the NFL.

Roger Goodell's decision is expected to be announced next week and it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him.

In conversations I've had with several key sources who always have a good sense of what goes on at 345 Park Avenue, there is little doubt Goodell considers Brady's role in DeflateGate a serious violation.

The NFL is convinced, according to sources, that connecting all the dots of the evidence supplied by Wells leads to one conclusion:

Brady cheated.

I heard somewhere that the referee never inspected the balls and let the game be played anyways.

They haven’t proved their case in my eyes.

Agreed. They showed a possibility that something happened. Too vague. Too weak.

Was the equipment guy pissed at Brady with his talk of over inflating to the "rugby" ball and then under inflating to make it seem mushy? Is Brady one of the many weird QBs that have to have things in a mystical "just so" state? I played with one that had to have three quick sprays of "stick-em" on his hands and then he licked his fingertips clean....before the start of each drive.

I still can't see how 0.5 - 1 psi is going to make a difference. I think it is something for a Mythbusters show.

Was Brady sliding the guy shoes and autographed balls? Almost certainly. But that happens with every team.

Do I buy the haters rants that they always cheat? Nope. The Pats have been too good to blame cheating. Reminds me of the anti-Landry rants when the Cowboys where the "scientific" team.

Yep, lol, you know what it means to be a fan of one of the lower tier teams.

Much pain.

Except, Brady cheated. He cheated. It's not blaming a loss on his cheating. He did cheat.

Pfftt. Pat's fans. We don't need rules. We can cheat all we want. Because: win.

That's what most of the responses on these threads by Cheatriots fans amount to.

Brady participated — as did the rest of the team — in Bellycheat’s illegal taping of opposing teams.

Wrong. Learn some physics.

72F is 295K. 48F is 282K. 12.5 * 282/295 is 12.0 [11.95, but there aren't 4 significant figures in any of these measurements, so it's 12.] Not even close to 11.4.

Next phony excuse, please?

Nope. They use their own balls. Both teams did not use the same ones.

New England has running backs? When did this happen?

During that time, how many other coaches were fined $500,000 for cheating?

Well, you heard wrong.

The refs notified the league, and the NFL told them to allo play to continue play until halftime and reweigh the balls.

So, I am just going to assume that since you dodged my question by asking me another question that you know full well that Brady’s stating he prefers under inflated balls is not an admission to rule breaking.

I answered the question. You just didn't like the answer.

Try to follow...Brady likes the ball slightly deflated, the Patriots were caught with multiple balls deflated, text messages indicate the balls were intentionally deflated...1+1+1=3.

Brady will be suspended. It's just a matter of how many games he'll miss.

How do you know that the deflator was tasked with deflating the balls to a level that is below the rule threshold?

Because that is what the text messages indicate.

Brady refused to hand over his text messages and emails because he is guilty as charged.

You do the crime, you do the time.

Actually, you screwed up. The gauge does not read absolute pressure but relative. You have to take in account the atmospheric pressure of 14.7 psi as the leather ball is not a fixed chamber.

So: (12.5+14.7) x 282/295 = 26 then subtract atmospheric to return to gauge 26- 14.7= 11.3 psi.

I was being generous and used 70 F.

Yeah. Science is picky that way. So not so phony an excuse. But keep trying.

"Try to follow"

I don't have any problems following proof. Much like Goodell, you don't have any.

...Brady likes the ball slightly deflated

Not an admission that he deflated any balls or asked anyone to deflate any balls.

"the Patriots were caught with multiple balls deflated"

OK. How did they get that way? When did they get that way? What if the Colts paid someone to secretly do that? What if someone maliciously did that on their own?

"text messages indicate the balls were intentionally deflated"

Text messages taken out of context only prove that a conversation occurred. They don't prove that any action was taken as a result of the conversation. If action did occur as a result of the conversation, the extent of the action or the illegality of the action is not proven. And the texts don't prove that the subject of the conversation was even a serious subject as opposed to a joke.

Maybe if they got the deflator to confess what happened, I might believe that.

Anyway, 0+0+0=0. maybe they proved it to you, but they didn't prove it to me. Maybe you want Brady suspended, but I don't.

Denver, 2010, a director fired and the coach fined 50,000
Jets, 2010, 100,000 fine for interference on a play
Denver, 1998, salary cap violation fine 950,000
Saints, 2009-11, the bounty scandal, multiple fines and a coach suspended six games
Steelers, 2013, Coach fined 100,000 for interference on a play

The problem with spying gate was that if the Pats video guy had not been on the sideline, it wouldn't have been an issue. The rules ban it in the coaches box and sidelines.
