Tom Brady will be suspended by Goodell for role in DeflateGate, announcement next week
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS ^ | 5-8-2015 | Gary Myers

Tom Brady will be the highest profile player ever suspended in the 96-year history of the NFL.

Roger Goodell's decision is expected to be announced next week and it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him.

In conversations I've had with several key sources who always have a good sense of what goes on at 345 Park Avenue, there is little doubt Goodell considers Brady's role in DeflateGate a serious violation.

The NFL is convinced, according to sources, that connecting all the dots of the evidence supplied by Wells leads to one conclusion:

Brady cheated.

I read what was available. Disagree. It's what you do with someone down on the ladder.

More likely...."0" conversation if something was going on.

Not to me they aren’t.

And that’s pretty rude of you to say.

The Deflator and his boss were joking about it and about making sure that the boss got the goods for the Deflator. Matt Hasselback had described that these were the type of guys who would have done it and who would end up hung out to dry once any investigation was done. This afternoon he was crowing about how obvious, as seen in the texts it is that that’s exactly what happened.

And yeah—those equipment room guys live on tips in the form of either cash or that kind of swag.

Maybe they were joking.

If not turning over his phone is punishable, then punish him for that. At least that is something they have proof of.

I wouldn’t have turned over my phone either.

THAT’S the ONLY verdict that will prove that pro football actually IS a little more legit than pro wrestling.

Otherwise a team just does some creative cheating, wins, and the leader cheaters get 2 weeks paid vacation. No sweat. It’ll really be fun when every team in every game is creatively cheating. Then lay off all the game officials and replace Goodell with Bill Clinton. Suhweeet!

Vick was suspended for two entire seasons. The additional preseason 2 games suspension was considered a punishment in his case because it denied him a training opportunity. I'm not aware of any other case in which a preseason suspension was considered as a punishment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_suspensions_in_the_National_Football_League doesn't list any. Are you aware of any other cases? I just don't think it's done [for exactly the reasons you state.]

Thanks for posting that. It does definitely fall on the ref.

My big problem is till....he played worse with the under inflated ball/s.

My second proble is...If they were ALL underinflated....you better look at the mechanics of this.

Pointing up facts doesn’t seem rude to me. Goodell can suspend players for actions or suspected actions he believes are detrimental to the game. It’s in the contract. Do t like it? Don’t sign it. Go do something else.

Your likes, dislikes, and beliefs aren’t relevant either. Sorry that hurt your feeling.

Lol. I see you’re enjoying playing defense attorney here. Have at it. NFL isn’t court though.

The Browns GM Ray Farmer was suspended for texting his own sidelines during a game. (Myself I would have suspended him for an entire season.)

Why was that? Is there a rule against it or is the GM forbidden to provide coaching assistance during a game? Might as well have the upstairs booth coaches banned IMO.
