A fire on Camp Pendleton has grown to about 20 acres Monday afternoon, according to the base officials on Twitter.
The blaze is burning near Range 108, a rifle and demo range and x-ray impact area.
However, there is no threat to buildings or people, and no evacuations are being ordered.
The Camp Pendleton Fire Department will continue to monitor the fire as Cal Fire responds with an engine and a dozer.
Is governor Moonbeam allowing them to use water on the fire
That was happening in early 1970 when I was there for training and for a long time before that.
22 mph wind gusts, according to wxunderground local gages.
I’ve seen more than one rifle range fire on Army posts during dry, windy conditions.

We’re gonna have a long summer out here in So California
20 acres? The big fire on the ranch 4 years ago took out 16 square miles and it didn’t make the news.
Fire seems to have grown in acreage as daybreaks. Anyone getting news of whether it has crossed the base perimeter into nearby San Clemente?
