Agreed. Even smart phones can be frustrating at times. The user interface tiny and can be frustrating. Voice recognition has helped and keyboard quick tools help too. Some smartphones still come with a flip out keyboard.
Size becomes even more of a problem for a tiny device wrapped around your wrist.

Probably pretty limited gui because of the size. Maybe future versions will come with a holographic interface. Will it have the old style phone keypad for text entry? I used to have a watch with a keyboard and calculator. No, the user dictates replies to Siri.
Looks like they still make them.
I had one of those in gold about thirty years ago. It was pretty much unusable. I had to carry a stylus in my pocket or use a pen tip to enter anything on it. My error rate was quite high.

But doesn't it have to be tethered to an iphone for Siri to be active? Much like a Bluetooth earpiece?
So the smarts are in the phone.
Lol. Me too. But in a pinch, it could figure the tip or calculate your mileage. :)

Not the Apple Watch, but the bands come in all sorts of styles and colors! You can switch out the bands very quickly, too ... changing from casual to as stylish as you want!
There is something there for EVERYONE!

Shower? Yes.
Break a nut? Probably but unwise.
Big Ben? Most likely.
$400 isn’t much different from what many people spend on a lesser function watch.

Not God, just a nice product line.
Strange how many seem to think Apple is Satan incarnate.

70 percent of apple iphone and ipod users are male. quite a difference from the 50-50 you’re suggesting.
apple is also seen as the most fag friendly company.
no statistics are published based on sexual identity of apple customers
(pretty sure apple doesn’t want to be seen as the fag tech company)

Not sure how you elicit sexual orientation from a color. Not all buyers are men ya know.

Yes it can tell time, accurate to 50ms/yr and time zones within feet. And cheaper than my time-only hand-set watch.

I doubt you find a single homosexual in the 700 FReepers who are on the Apple ping list here ... :-) ...
ALSO ... In all my years of being involved with Apple users (user groups, which are less popular now, but were the thing years ago) ... I never once ran into an Apple User who was a homosexual.
On the other hand, if you were to “run in homosexual circles” you would probably find some Apple users ... LOL ...

Top level app, of course, started with a gesture.
Vibration will wake you if you prefer.

Does it come in pink? If that's what floats your boat:
Apple Watch Sport 38mm in Pink
Not my style at all, but perhaps it will look good on your wrist. I prefer this one:
Apple Watch Stainless Steel 42mm in Space Black

Ok, nobody is trying to compel you to.
Strange how compelled some feel to come into a thread they have no interest in just to say they’re not interested.

So essentially, the Apple watch allows you to do some of what the iPhone does, on a much smaller screen, but with the luxury of being able to do it without having the more bulky iPhone with you.
For that small luxury, I expect millions will shell out a lot of money for the Apple watch, and do it every couple of years as the software changes! There’s lots of rich people out there, and lots of people who make decisions that keep them poor.

So who does free republic bill for you and star guy constantly
promoting apple ? Is that not what you are doing. Its easy to see.

Lol. Me too. But in a pinch, it could figure the tip or calculate your mileage. :) No, read the article. Siri will work with a WIFI connection without the presence of an iPhone. Siri's smarts are actually on the iCloud. The Watch has a lot of smarts built into it, but limited and limited storage.

Why assume you’ll be writing so much on it when you have a smartphone in your pocket? There’s dictation and voice messaging if you prefer not to dig out the phone.
