I agree. Bitcoin is a way to prevent confiscation of your money by the greedy .gov. If you previously established a bitcoin wallet (like Electrum) whose seed is an ordered series of words (12-24 common words), you could cross the border stark naked, and retain control of your dough, assuming you have memorized the seed.
One hack and your bitcoin is gone.

I think it’s important, in a collapse, to appear as an average (as opposed to above average) person who has spent his/her life with an average job, just working every day and putting average food on the table. Every cocky guy who spouts off, swaggers with a gun clipped to his belt, won’t be alive long.
I’ve said before I have an advantage because I’m old. My good clothes will be in the back of the closet and my “bought for an emergency” wrinkled clothes will be the only ones showing or on me. They are too big for me in order to look as though I am losing weight. I have small bones to start with and I’m 5’4”. I don’t appear as a threat to anyone. My hair won’t be well kept and my shoes will look worn. Such an old lady couldn’t possibly have anything worthwhile. If there is a food line, I’ll be in it.
It will be most important to be aware of what is happening. A hidden short wave radio will keep me informed of country and world happenings. A shorter way to say that, is “be observant” and have plan A and B and C to respond to whatever happens.
The biggest problem with his real world is its based on a different world than we live in inside the USA. Am I going to need a passport/? Doubtful. Am I going to flee my country? Nope. Would I tolerate a checkpoint? No, I would just go around it or not bother going near it.
