Factual science now involves “the unobserved but inferred”. It has to be there because our current worldview is that we believe it’s there.

Science will kick itself out of school just like they did religion.

When I was a kid I used to make maps of imaginary things too. Too bad I never dreamed someone might give me a fat grant to do it :(

No, we theorize it's there because that's the only thing we can come up with that fits what we can observe. If you want to win a Nobel Prize, show that the measurable data fits another interpretation better.

Science is almost entirely inferential. No one has ever seen an electron, or a gravitational field, but we take their existence completely for granted.

You’re really not going to like quantum mechanics, I can see.

Have you considered that most murderers in prison are there because of ‘unobserved but inferred’ evidence?

Why don’t you hold the criminal justice system to the same standards you want to impose on scientific research? Do you feel threatened or something?
