They are two of the most prolific trash talkers of this era. I don’t think McGregor actually means death...just trash talk. Keep in mind about Mayweather, he went to jail for beating his girlfriend, so not all in life was excelling. They’re both all about self promotion.
By acting like a nutjob, McGregor got himself a title shot before someone with his record normally would have. He leapfrogged in the rankings.
GSP used to be fun to watch, but after getting TKO’d by Serra, he continually is an exercise in risk management. That’s why I like watching Lawler...he brings it.

Spinks and Inoki are wearing regulation boxing gloves in Round 1.
By Round 8, Inoki isn't wearing gloves, but Spinks still is.
How can you fight a wrestler with boxing gloves on, let alone maximize your punching power?
Watched a couple rounds, didn't see anything that looked like a serious punch from Spinks.
In the last round, Spinks isn't even fighting back, he just let's Inoki throw him down and put a leg lock around his neck.
I'd like to know if there was a betting line on this fight in Las Vegas, because if there was, every Spinks bettor in the world was screaming “FIX.”
