The indignities heaped upon suspended NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams just keep piling up, and by extension, almost certainly ensure he will not return to the anchor chair after his six months in purgatory are complete.
The latest was reported Friday by the New York Post: Dozens of residents from Williams home town are demanding a tribute sign to their former favorite son be torn down.
Thus far, Mayor Sue Skidmore is balking. The towns welcome sign, which also honors a half-dozen other hometown notables (including Mark Twain), would be too expensive to replace, she says.

Looks accurate enough to me.

Put another way, how can she countenance the juxtaposition of Brian Williams, who by his deceit has become nothing, to Sam Clemens, who has embarrassed all "responsible" observers by his candid and trenchant comments.

Thus far, Mayor Sue Skidmore is balking Mayor?!! I thought Sue Skidmore was still doing the morning traffic report on the extreme rock radio station.

As someone who can’t stand the state controlled “media”, I’m really enjoying watching those maggots taking all these arrows. LOL!

Don’t know how, but for now she insists on it. Skid more, work less, I guess.

I think a box cutter could fix that real quick. *score and snap*

Gee, I hope there isn’t a town with a Steve Kroft picture at the city limits.
To: rabidralph
I guess box cutters have several uses.

Or get that Italian lady who painted over the fresco in the cathedral.

Looks like they could fix the problem with the right kind of saw.

Seems like careful cutting by a skilled municipal worker could excise the offending caracature. And, no one would notice.

Just take a black permanent magic market and black him out or you could paste over a picture John Kerry-Heinz to keep the theme.

Can’t they just throw a bedspread or a big blue tarp over him? Have they so soon forgotten Brians nine good years? Seems kinda harsh for the hometown to pursue this.
