Every time some Libtard brings up "Citizens United vs. FTC" ~Vanity

Every-time some schmuck seminar caller calls into a conservative talk show whining about "Citizens United" and whines about how ' Businesses and Corporations are not "people" and shouldn't be able to contribute to political campaigns.' I really want to tell the moron that neither are Unions by their twisted criteria and that if they want to remove that right of Businesses to have a say in politics they should also remove the rights unions have in political contributions as well.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous; Society
KEYWORDS: citizensunited; freespeech; unions
It just annoys me they are so dumb that they don;t see that if concerning free speech rights that they really would cut off their own noses to spite their own faces.

You have to do it the right way so you also piss them off. This is how you do it.

Agree with them. Tell them they are right, just like unions. Then say, “ you would agree with that, right?” Stops them in their tracks.

Just remember, if you get called a racist, you did your job.

By that logic, governments are not people either. Which is precisely how tyrants prefer matters to be.

Out of state money rolls in . . .

This is why individual voters ONLY should be allowed to contribute money to candidates for whom those individual voters may vote.

We could stop the corrupting influence of mega-donors and get back to one-man-one-vote which is what made America a free nation.

Mention that those opposed to Free Speech are reactionaries trying to roll back the gains of the Civil Rights Era. In NAACP v. Button the Supreme Court enthusiastically endorsed the 1st Amendment rights of corporations like the NAACP. Much of the modern Progressive movement is anchored to the premise that there's too much freedom going on in the country today.

I agree totally. One person one vote. I don’t see huge amounts of money going into our elections from out of country as doing anything except corrupting our politicians as if they need more corrupting.

If it was up to me I’d require that the pols wear body cameras and mics so we know what they are up to. Instead they spy on us.

One more thing I don’t understand is why some see “Citizens United” as a conservative position just because some media pundit says so. It’s a corporate position driven by a media that makes mega bucks in the process.

Can we agree that political correctness is intended to take away OUR freedom of speech? It is intended to make us all submissive to the whims of those who divide the USA along lines that they get to define and intentionally create?

The MSM are the principle purveyors and are the PC police. They are the provocateurs. Conservatives typically become the political victims. Make no mistake that most of the “contributions” coming to the politicians end up in the pockets of the MSM. Why then would limitless money going to influence our politicians by bringing bountiful profits to the media be beneficial to conservatives?

So this is why I don’t understand why conservatives would buy into a theory that the Citizens United Decision is manna from heaven. Maybe someone that views this differently could clarify their beliefs.

Seems to me that half of the politicians of either party are married to someone in the media. Keeps the money in the family.
