Bubba Watson most disliked player by his PGA peers?

An ESPN.com poll surveyed 103 tour pros (21 major champions) and asked them a variety of serious and lighthearted questions. One of the questions asked golfers which of their peers they would be least likely to assist in the event that a fight broke out in the parking lot. Bubba’s name showed up the most.

There are plenty of people who like Watson because of his unorthodox style of play and seemingly great sense of humor (remember those hilarious “Golf Boys” videos?). However, Bubba rubbed some people the wrong way when he basically threw a hissy fit last year because he didn’t want to take part in a long drive competition. He has also been known to berate his caddy when things don’t go his way on the course.

I like the guy. Everyone loses it once in a while, but when you're in a fishbowl like him, everyone sees it. The Masters is coming up this week. Should be exciting for golf fans.

Love the Masters! Love Bubba! I'm even excited that Tiger will be playing!!

For me the player I like the least is Adam Scott.

Bubba is an outspoken believer in Jesus Christ. Could that be a reason?

Didn’t know he had a history of bad manners; still I don’t like him much.

Hope Rory and Jordan Spieth fight it out at the Masters. Brilliant young talents we’ll be watching for years.

What you see on the screen or outside the ropes at a tournement is not what some of these guys are about. Social hype is part of their game. Just think back to the Tiger episodes of a few years back that narry a member of the public knew about.

Jordan Spieth....yeah, sorry to see him lose yesterday. Seems to have a bright future.

Didn’t know he was a believer, still don’t like him much. Not an appealing guy.

Don't think so, not in golf. There's been a lot of outspoken believers on tour. It's a more conservative universe than most sports.....like NASCAR.

Spieth is impressive and mature beyond his years. A good sportsman and polite.

Yes, he seems genuinly personable. I noticed yesterday he complimented one of his opponents on sinking a long putt to make the play off. Nice sportsmanship.

Spieth’s already ranked as 4th in the world, and this year has begun really well for him. I love Rory, would hate for him to lose the Masters, but Spieth would be my second choice. We shall see.

BTW, I’ve guessed the winners in the last 4 tournaments I watched, including long-shot James Hahn. About halfway through the game, they sort of take on a glow……..golf woo woo R Us.

There you go. You hit it right on the head. Today, a Christian is the blame for everything. ISIS is what they are because of Jews and Christians. Poor muzzies are what they are not because of the pedophile that made up their religion of murder, rape and slavery. But, simply because of the mean old Jews and then the Christians when they came along. Christians and Jews. The most hated groups IN AMERICA! NOT the murdering thugs of izzlam, but Christian and Jews!!!

On his 3 shot of the playoff a noise distracted him at the top of his back swing and he left it well short. They asked him about it in the interview, and he said it didn’t matter. Didn’t make an excuse even when offered the chance.

A well grounded young man.

I had a suspicion about Bubba when he withdrew from a springtime tournament after the first round because of "seasonal allergies."

For the younger crop of pro golfers, I'm rooting for Jordan Spieth and Ricky Fowler. My least fav of the young'uns: Patrick Reed, followed by Rory McIlroy.

Discuss!
