The idea of using Superman as a Christ-like narrative figure is not a new one, but a video released online tries to show how his latest film incarnation, Man of Steel, really drives that idea home. So much so that Man of Steel and The Passion of the Christ may basically be the same movie.
The theory and video is posited by YouTube user Couch Tomato, who lists 24 reasons why they’re the same. The films actually play side-by-side as he describes them both at once.

I was flipping through the channels and came across a superman movie with Kevin Costner as the earth dad. (Never seen a superman movie before!) I didn’t watch much of it, but the dad motions his young son not to save him from the tornado. “It wasn’t my time yet. My dad told me that not everyone would believe me. Some would hate me. But that I was here to save earth, and many would believe me.” Or something like that.
Do you know “Frozen” and “The Shining” are the same movie?

That was ‘Man of Steel’, the subject of this thread. Sort of a modern retelling of the Superman story. I thought it was pretty good.
I didn't, but did you know that Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter are the same person?

I had a link on the Walking Dead thread showing how the Walking Dead is like “Toy Story”. Funny stuff.
Reminds me - my daughter was talking about a book they are reading for school. “And so the mother is to symbolize Jesus - aren’t they all. And then when they jab holes in the casket they poke holes in the mom’s dead body - which is to symbolize the nail holes from the cross! Where do they come up with this crap!?”
