OKAY! All you Windows users and admins and fanboys, Microsoft followers and folks, all you 90% of the computer users in the world...
After over 6 years of complaining that FreeRepublic doesn't have a Windows Ping List, I have finally decided that it's up to me to make one!So if you want on the All-New Windows Ping List (or off, but ya gotta get on before you can get off), FReepMail me (dayglored) and I'll put ya on the list.

Executive Summary:
I've been doing computer software since 1970, hardware design since 1976, I've designed and built computers (hardware, software, entire systems) for spacecraft, industrial process control, commercial applications, and consumer products. I was a System Engineer most of my career, now I'm doing System Administration for a software outfit in upstate NY. Over the years I've made most of my money working on or with Microsoft software -- 8KBASIC and Xenix and MS-DOS and Windows, every release of Windows since 2.0! These days I work with every kind of computer and operating system, not just Windows -- all of 'em. :)
So you will find this Ping List to be pretty even-handed, at least insofar as I have any comments to make. I don't waste my time hating on any particular piece of software or hardware, that's just dumb. But I do have opinions, and I look forward to reading yours!
So I believe I'm qualified to pick up the reins of a Windows Ping List, and I invite y'all to get on board and let's see if we can make this turkey fly!!

Thank you VanDeKoik for today's inspiration to get off my butt after complaining for 6 years. I've been getting psyched for a couple weeks (ShadowAce and Swordmaker will attest to that) but your comment today was the one that put me over the top.
