Regardless that I have family currently serving, and know the cloth they are cut from.....it’s a matter of numbers.
Total number of people on the fedral payroll = 2.18 million
Total number of adults in the US = 218.5 million
Total number of firearms in the US = 250 - 300 million
They would be lucky to lock down a single large city.
Lets not forget that 5000 jihadi assholes gave our entire combined forces a hell of a hard time in ONE iraq city....and our guys were motivated.
They arent about to start shooting up America....and if they did...they would have to carpet bomb US cities.
And if anyone here seriously thinks of our service men and women like that....they belong over on DU.

IIRC the amount of personel involved will be about 2900.......and they will be amongst tens of millions of armed citizens.

OTOH, from personal experience, I’ve seen where local cops make stuff up as they go along. Our medium size town has an unfortunate reputation of the police overstepping their boundaries.....so if the SHTF......we have plans to get out ASAP to a remote camp we have way north of here. I don’t trust the police and my only resort is to *get-outta-dodge*....or going out in a blaze of glory. I want to live to fight another day. ;)

I agree with you. This is a training exercise. It does not augur a U.S. military crackdown of the American people. While I have no doubt King Putt would love for such a thing to happen, I dare say that if he issued such an order our military would retire him.
The military has wargamed itself agains’t the American public more than once and they always lose. So they know the score. But that does not mean Barky believes it or more importantly Barky’s puppeetmasters.
What does a drill like this have to offer for military activity in the Mideast? Nothing is the answer. This is for martial law in the USA. Its to desensitize the public to the military running around their neighborhood and taking people away.
You are so right that the military could not lock down well in my opinion more than 2-3 large cities. But they don’t need to do that. They just need to be able to round up the “trouble makers” the “activists” and that’s what the plan is. Or at least part of the plan.
We can only hope that our boys and girls who were not raised to go agains’t their own people will balk at this and I think most will. But about 20% will do as they are told. It will be a terrible confrontation if it happens.
