Who had the bright idea of dumping this stuff in with nuclear waste? Shouldn’t nuclear waste be kept in a separate facility from all other waste, to avoid the quite obviously dangerous complications?
EVERY cat owner knows kitty litter can achieve a point of nuclear reaction.
Nothing new there.
Idiots. The granulated clay absorbent used to sop up spills is called “kitty litter” by firemen, et al. I guess some genius thought it really was kitty litter.
“organic cat litter”.
Last time I checked, most cat litter was inorganic, i.e. clay. If they were using “organic” cat litter that was obviously not clay, and they didn’t test it for any sort of reaction with the contents...
Carelessness, inexcusable carelessness. But, what would we expect from the “good enough for government work” crowd... (And I speak from experience, having worked at Los Alamos while in college... Enough said.)
