Good news is their government recognizes there is problem and is starting to do something about it. Mostly violaters go to prison
They said it was common to be standing in line in a takeout place getting ready to order food for some Chinese person to come in and push you out of the way. My sis-in-law almost got into a fistfight with one Chinese woman who pushed her out of the way while she was standing in line. They had other stories about rude, crude Chinese. They said if you go off the main travel arteries, Chinese streets are exceptionally filthy.
I don't think it's anything inherent about Chinese in general I knew people of Chinese descent at work and at school. But they were American Chinese and were just like other Americans.
I think the native Chinese after living under a totalitarian society for so many decades have to learn how to conduct themselves around foreigners. My bro and sister in law said they really enjoyed Korea and Japan. But they were never going back to China.
My aunt used to live in San Fran. I asked how she knew the difference between Chinese and Japanese.
She said:
“Easy! The Chinese will kill you to get on a bus or into an elevator ahead of you. The Japanese all have cameras around their necks and are VERY polite.”
Not shocking, since only the elite of China get to travel outside of China. They act like the entitled act everywhere.
