Saw this in my web travels and it has a lot of interesting info. Knew there would be some interested Freepers, we are an educated lot here. For instance, that the Celts DNA is very diverse - they are not all one people - and that the Danish Vikings and Romans DNA has basically disappeared from Britain, while the Anglo-Saxons intermarried with invaders. Lots of charts.

This might explain why there are so many different regional accents in Britain. America has about four or five basic accent. Britain, a much smaller country with about one fifth of the population of the U.S., has about thirty or more distinctly different accents. That’s not counting the Scottish dialect either.

Very interesting. Since many Americans are Anglo Saxon in origin I wonder if this study could be extended?

The author obviously meant "English" when he wrote "Britons." "Britons" is misleading, as it implies he's writing about the original Brythonic Celtic peoples who lived there prior to the Anglo-Saxon invasions.
Goodness I wish people would learn the difference between "England/English" and "Britain/British!"
