At the artists request, DC Comics has decided to cancel a cover design after complaints that the Joker attacking Batgirl is misogynistic and sexist and promotes violence against women. The cover, which features the villain holding a gun to Batgirl and drawing his blood-grin across her face, was supposed to be released as a variant cover in June as part of DCs Joker Month.

It’s victim envy.
Funny thing is, some fangurls/fanbois believe that it is a reference to a "classic" (their word, not mine) story called "The Killing Joke" in which Joker allegedly rapes Bat-Girl.
Have they bothered protesting Time-Warner-DC to stop reprinting that comic tale?
There is no rape in this cover. The gun is not held to her head, it is held in PROXIMITY to her head (in an unsafe position, dangling at the floor).
LET’S BAN ALL BOOKS that libtards don’t like~!
What could go wrong?
From the Guardian article on this matter:
http://www.theguardian.com/books/2015/mar/17/dc-comics-pull-batgirl-joker-cover-after-protests
“was now not going to run at the artists request and said that there had been ‘threats of violence and harassment’ over the cover”
So now the Feminazis are emulating the Islamonazis. Threating violent attacks over comic book drawings.
They are working on banning the Bible, to be followed by the Constitution...
if you want to talk about sick, another story described the classic Batgirl / Joker story referred to in this article. Apparently, Joker shoots her in the spine and paralyzes her, then takes nude pictures of her to humiliate her. However, they like this story line because she becomes an empowered paraplegic.
Of for... isn’t that why he’s a villain? I mean...that’s why you’re suppose to HATE him! Geez...
If The Joker is taking any interest in you whatsoever, you are quite justified in being terrified out of your friggin’ mind.
That pic is extremely macabre
Comic books sure have gone to hell over the years.
“Of for... isnt that why hes a villain? I mean...thats why youre suppose to HATE him! Geez...”
Concur. I guess killing Batman is OK because he’s male.
Joker tried to take compromising movies of Batman too.
There’s nothing in The Killing Joke supporting the allegation. Not a stretch to go from the suspect scene to that act if the author wanted to, but there is absolutely nothing indicating The Joker went there. I’ll argue that instead, part of the humiliation scene was that he _didn’t_ - he’s too cerebral a villain to stoop so low, that the vile opportunity did not interest him, that rendering her so shamefully vulnerable & helpless was made moreso by himself remaining as far aloof over her as possible (and not lowering himself in the process).
Well, that’s what happens when an edgy character endures for decades: the audience expects the same edgy feeling, which fades with familiarity, requiring a continuing gradual ratcheting up of edginess ... until it really does reach & push the limits of human tolerance for edginess. You’re shocked, probably because you’re familiar with the 30-years-past version of The Joker, didn’t follow him for a long time, then get hit with this - quite a jump.
Have they ever looked at comics? There’s a lot more sexist stuff in them than this cover. And why are they outraged about this but are more than likely in support of 50 Shades of Gray?
“Move out of your parents’ basement! Kiss a girl!”
- William Shatner.
Yeah, did they even see that overtly sexual Spider-Woman cover?
Feminists like it when a female character kicks men's butts. They get upset when men hit back.
I remember a scene years ago in a Frank Miller Batman graphic novel ("The Dark Knight Returns"), where the woman police commissioner gets the drop on Batman from behind. Batman punches her, takes away her gun, and goes "Hmmm, nice gun". I'm sure those feminists would get into a snit about that.
