Exactly.
Late for work? Blame it the car. I can see nerds that tun the servers becoming hit men for the fed...”okay remember, system malfunction at these coordinates (train crossing) from 5:45 - 5:48 pm and make sure the vehicles stops right here and won’t start...also same with the seatbelt ...on’t unlatch and the doors and windows are locked...release after impact and erase all system guidance information...got it? “Yes”. “Here’s your 5,000 in credits”....
Yes, finally old folks and immigrants will travel at the speed limit
Darn I want a house robot!!! They can keep their driverless cars just get to work on the house robot!!
Kind of hoping a mexican trucker just crushes the thing.
I believe that at some point in time, cars will be self driving and on the street. I also believe that for many seniors, this will enable them to retain the freedom and mobility, even when they are no longer able to drive. I also see truck drivers and taxi cab drivers no longer in the work force. Something like “Johnny cab” from “Total Recall”.

I’d never trust a self driving car. My Hyundai because of a bad output speed shaft sensor shifted so hard in a turn it gave me whiplash. The sensor tells the tranny computer when to shift. Me in a self driving car, no way! I’d be afraid I’d end up a huge red spot on the side of the Fort Pitt Tunnels or end up in the Ohio River.
Am I the only person whose first (and primary) thought about driverless cars is that they’ll be able to be controlled from afar . . . and anyone at all can be rounded up whenever it’s convenient.
Just like “Ginger” did. (the Segway)
Accidents as we know them simply won't happen. I will hate having to actually only go the speed limit but it will be nice to read while rolling down the highway.
My 95 year old father in-law still drives. I don't expect to live that long but if I do I won't have to worry about being able to drive, I will only have to tell the car where I want to go.
