Iran’s Latest Tactic Against Islamic State — Send in the Battle Buggies

The Iraqi push into Tikrit features loads of Iranian weapons. And the pint-size Safir jeep is one of the most distinctive of them all.

Dozens of the rocket launcher-equipped, Iranian-made buggies are in Iraq, helping out Iraqi troops and allied Shia militias.

The buggies reflect Iran’s preference for swarm tactics, which emphasize deploying large numbers of simple, cheap vehicles in order to outmaneuver and overwhelm the enemy.

In WWII, this method was used with devastating impact on the Germans in North Africa Campaign during the early phases where they had poor air cover.

With such weapons and tactics you can bet civilian casualties are not their concern. Hell, it reflects a total disregard for the safety of their own troops.

Civilian casualties abound and you won’t hear anything about it as it’s not the US that is conducting the assault.

I am sure you know from the Iran-Iraq war Iran used human wave tactics and used people to blow themselves up to clear minefields. Iran has as much regard for casualties as the Red Army during WW II or China during the Korean War.
