I do tend to expect calm professionalism from anyone in law enforcement, so when I saw the opposite, and it was directed at me, I could only bite my tongue. There was no reason for me to escalate things, so I didn’t.
That’s why he sticks in my mind as the anomaly. I’d run across so much good prior to him. He wasn’t corrupt or anything that I know of. Just the classic ‘hot shot, tough guy’.
This is a product of hiring the wrong people and not enough time paired up with a partner. Not enough mentoring of young officers.
