Molly McGaan didnt reference her proficiency in dank memes or her wealth of $wagg moneyyyy when she applied to Harvard.
But as admissions season ramped up along with the high school seniors anxiety level she tried to imagine what would have happened if she had.
McGaan, who attends the Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, created a faux Harvard University rejection letter that was widely circulated online this week, full of references to hip-hop mix tapes and Internet memes.
The 18-year-old, who really applied to Harvard, thought the joke was obvious enough.
The letter, which has the name of admissions dean William R. Fitzsimmons at the bottom, criticizes the approach of concluding with McGaan out *drops mic*, and was initially posted on the Facebook page for her schools satirical magazine, Citizen Poke.
The letter quickly garnered more than 700 shares and hundreds of comments on Reddit and Facebook, with many believing it was authentic.
People legitimately think its real, which is so bizarre to me. Its just so insane, she said.
I wanted to turn something sad into something funny.
Molly McGaan, on why she wrote a faux Harvard rejection letter after being turned down at another university.

90% sure #TheDress is a government conspiracy to distract us from the epic tailspin of the Obama administration.
Take a gander at this.

Currently in trouble for moving the Howard Zinn books to the fiction section in the bookstore
Funny.
!!!!
Lol!
That’s hilarious :D
Now that’s good!
Truly LOL
Me too. It's neither believable, funny or interesting.
Well she is okay in my book!

That made me laugh. She certainly deserves to get into Harvard with that one.
When will the erudite’s realize they are being made fun of?
I, for one, am more than glad to have been introduced to the meaning of “dark memes” and “slanks”, but I’m not quite sure that I can fully appreciate the implications of ‘$wagg moneyyyy’ or ‘fire’ mixtapes.
Of course, that’s “dank memes”, not “dark memes” (durn typos)...
Uproariously funny, and 18 to boot! Another Dorothy Parker on the way up.
I think that it makes a point.
An application like that is believable because it’s not far off from reality. Which is funny (not ha ha funny) but sadly ironically funny.
Have you seen the qualification of some of these ignoramuses teaching stuff like “gender studies”? AFAIC, gender studies should take place in the back seat of a car at the drive in.
I like her.
The powers at Fox news need to hire her to be on the Red Eye show. She has that snark that the hosts on that show excel in.
With Greg gone Red Eye won’t be the same.
