He continues to host radio and TV shows rooted in his conservative political opinions, but he has been branching out, emphasizing culture coverage and developing scripted programming.

Let me say this clearly: F*ck Glenn Beck. At the height of the Tea Party having influence Beck started, out of his own warped little mind the 9/12 project. Then he decided to have a big rally on the mall. Not a Tea Party rally, not amplifying the message WE came up with" Taxed Enough Already -- but instead a weird homage to Martin Luther King.

Whatever problems America has that Conservatives aim to fix I am 100% sure that a lack of worship of his Doctor Reverendship is NOT one of them. Really, the problem with America is TOO DAMN MUCH MLK, and not enough anger about taxes, big government, regulations and lying politicians.

Beck did more to suck the momentum out of our movement than anyone, he did it for personal gain.

He is a very confused puppy - a wacked out Mormon, a former addict, a conspiracy theoritst, a guy who by his own admission didn't read books till a few years ago.

He is the worst possible leader for a conservative movement. He himself is not conservative, because he has no idea what it even is, having only recently stumbled onto it.

There is a reason AA doesn't let people who have only been sober for 2 months sponsor new members. For the same reason Beck should never have been allowed to direct the Tea Party and conservative movement. That he was was due to the raw power of Fox, who are not reliable friends.

F. Glenn Beck. Go away, cretin.

Have to say that I also am very confused by Beck but am still holding onto some simbalance of hope. So not quite as confused as you are but am hoping for better than I now see.

My wife has a good perspective on Glenn Beck. He's a wonderfully entertaining lecturer on aspects of American history that the left would just as soon bury, never to be remembered again.

Beyond that, he's lost any major influence in the movement outside of the "look at MEEEEE!" factor.

However for her experience, as an immigrant who loves this country, the insight on aspects of our cultural heritage as Americans has been priceless.

However she would no sooner follow him anywhere than she would a mouth-frothing lemming in the highlands...

I would hope that some day he puts together a compilation on the highlights of his show featuring his historical lectures. I would buy those and give them out as Christmas gifts.
