“the importance of preventing access to guns for those who would commit acts of violence.”
Like his DOJ?
Should someone who can’t pass a NICS check have access to schools at all? If one of these dangerous people was denied a firearm, the dangerous person may try violence by some other means.
I think we should run all teachers, administrators, janitors, curriculum coordinators and bus drivers through an expanded background check, for the children.
And surely the federal government will not use the firearms ownership questionaires that doctors will issue will never be used to register and eventually confiscate guns. Don’t worry. Snopes says it’s not true. We can trust our federal overlords to not use the new online medical database as political tools.
All this from a preezy who couldn’t even come close to passing the background checks he wants to impose on the rest of us.
Gun control, so called, has nothing to do with ‘health.’
It’s all about control of the proletariat, as any fool knows.
Thre is no freaking intersection those roads to not cross nor even come close to one another.
“I approve of only a LITTLE Fascism and trampling of Rights”, so says the ‘Constitutional scholar’.
Here’s a clue, and it won’t cost the taxpayers a DIME: restore Constitutional carry.
Regardless what FDRs activist justices wanted everybody to believe about Congresss Commerce Clause (1.8.3) powers when it scandalously decided Wickard v. Filburn in Congresss favor in 1942, FDRs thug justices wrongly ignored the following. A previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate intrastate commerce.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
So lawless Obama actually has no constitutional authority to regulate the intrastate purchase of firearms imo.
Also, since the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution the specific power to regulate firearms used for personal protection, there is a question as to why such regulations are now in the books. It is disturbing to note that such regulations evidently started appearing in the books during the administration of Constitution-ignoring FDR.
