I keep hearing about the extended juvenile period for Labs so I’m taking that as gospel. We are using the kennel training to get her attention when she gets out of hand.

Ever see those out'a control kids in WalMart and tsk tsk to yourself .. "All they need is some loving discipline" ... ?

That's how you rear a dog

A dog just wants to love you ... MORE than like a child because as a dog grows up, he doesn't question your authority ... just loves you IN SPITE of the fact you didn't get him his treats this week, or you got home late and drunk and didn't pay any attention to him

All y'gott'a do is LOVE him ... and you will KNOW what a man's best friend is

He'll learn the "NO!" and "sit" and the rest of it just by BEING with you and you always say "wait a minute" (or anything else) when you come to a street crossing ... or you just got home

Consistency of command and follow up is the key to an obedient dog ... or in OUR case ... child.
