The new comics don’t sell worth a damn...stores are hanging on because publishers are churning out collections of older books as ‘trade paperbacks’. Nearly every new title features four to six issue ‘story arcs’ that can be re-packaged/recycled later to fill the racks.

Original graphic novels are also taking off big time, and manga as well. It’s the traditional periodical comic format that’s dying a slow death.

Comic shops stay in business by selling games, toys and tie-in merch as well.
