Yikes, I can't suppress involuntarily shuddering at that.

In my inexperienced and still a bit damaged youth, I long dated a tattooed, NE liberal, fallen catholic with some serious anger issues. She would go from happy to angry in a fraction of a second and then liked to slam doors, throw and break valuable things, etc. with no remorse or apologies afterwards.

She frequently changes her first name, supports all progressive/liberal causes and candidates, even goes door to door campaigning during election season. Told me it was okay to lie if the cause was just, like with "global warming".

The last time I heard from her, she was into chanting and very serious about her drum circle participation.

Such a blessing not to have married that one. Better to be alone than married to the wrong one.

Otoh, helping out elderly family in assisted living facilities has given me real fear of growing old alone and I need to find the right one. But in the meantime, dogs truly are man's best friend.

I too have dated some "winners." About 5 years back, I dated a woman who was getting out of a triad marriage, was an Aleister Crowley cultist, and had friends named Squeeky and Lightfoot. But, boy, she was a real hottie.
