What is going on with CBS’s thinking? Aren’t they concerned with the safety of their key people? People who are regarded as being highly respected in the journalistic field and has achieved ‘star status’, rightfully so, as to put them in such a low degree of security. To me, this is so unprofessional it is mind-boggling!
I liked Simon. As was said, I, too, grew up admiring the man and his reports from around the world. I, too, shall miss him.
When are we, as a nation, going to put a stop to this BS???
But everybody makes mistakes and deserves a second chance - I am so so tired of hearing that......
As horrible as the wreckage looked, I doubt a seatbelt would have saved Simon.

It may not have and we can only speculate. However the driver survived.
