It's called an EarthRoamer, and it's a custom-made off-road camper built on a Ford Super Duty truck chassis that could range in size from an F-350 to an F-550. It's got decent size and nice features, is fully self-contained, is far more agile and fuel-efficient than an RV, and can get you to remote places off paved roads as well. I could see this type of vehicle coming in very handy in a "Mad Max" scenario, for sure.
Be sure to look at the International MXT models as well. Like a crew-cab pickup or Hummer-like SUV, but on steroids. They remind me of the old military M-37 (Dodge Power Wagon) trucks, but modern and comfortable.
What’s the MSRP on that EarthRoamer?
For the price, you could just go buy a Peterbuilt sleeper cab.
It’s diesel. Giant fuel tanks.
Most numerous parts in the USA and every mechanic knows how to fix it.
Unfortunately I think everyone who sees that vehicle will believe it will come in handy for them in a SHTF scenario.
Unless it’s armored they can touch you inside it.
If it has a computer in it, to run the engine - then no good.
The next war will - without a doubt - involve the use of EMP devices.
They are cheap, effective, and if you do it right you don’t even know who hit you until it is too late to find out.
Nobody dies, right away. It’s just that the power goes out - for a year. No car made after 1975 or so will work. No radio made after 1970 or so will work.
Everyone just ends up starving to death and killing each other over what little food is left.
No big deal.
One Second After - William Fortchean. The forward, believe it or not, is by Newt Gingrich.
It will change the way you look at preparing for a SHTF scenario.
I listened to the Gun Guy Radio show yesterday and they talked about this company. They interviewed one of the guys who works there, and they’re planning to build their vehicles on platforms all the way up to the Ford F-750.
Oooh, that just went on my Christmas wish list!
