That’s why the new Smith and Wesson PPKs have a larger “beavertail” on the back of the grip, to protect us ham fisted Americans (some of us anyway) from the slide.
I don’t know much about Makarov’s, but I do enjoy my PPK.
Ah, so on your griping hand. Sorry to get on to you. I see people a lot putting the thumb on their supporting hand right over the back of the gripping hand, straight across the path of the slide. Sometimes they are lucky and the slide goes right over without hitting and rare the unlucky ones get stitches.

My CZ52 had the hammer down and went bang when it fell on the ground.

No problem. Anyone who puts there non shooting hand thumb any where near the slide gets what they deserve. Thats just asking for trouble.
