An Iraqi old man on Sunday shot dead seven Islamic State (IS) militants in revenge for the killing of his son by the extremists in Iraq's northern central province of Salahudin, a provincial security source said.
The incident took place in the morning when Basil Ramadan, in his 60s, opened fire from his AK-47 assault rifle on a group of IS militants at a checkpoint in the provincial capital city of Tikrit, and killed seven of them before they shot him dead, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Well done, Basil. Rest easy.

What do you call 7 dead IS militants?
A pretty good start.
If there were several hundred more like this guy, the problem would be solved.
Good for him, too bad he only got seven of them.
Old Man, in his 60’s? Call Chuck Norris an old man and he’ll kick your burro. I know a lot of very active people in their sixties and they don’t call themselves old.
For many, 60s is the new 40s.
This is why societies need the right to be armed. The commies always wanted tyranny and thus they needed and wanted the masses disarmed. The commies in America want the same.
Bless you sir.
It really depends on how you define “old”, but with Iraqi life expectancy of 70 years, just 10 years left would be towards the twilight of one’s lifespan.
Way to go, Basil!
It would be ironic if ISIS gets to taste their own medicine — checkpoint shootings, IEDs, suicide bombings, etc.
Very well done Basil. I hope you enjoy your 70 virgins and it would have been very nice if you had dipped your bullets in pig fat. Thank you and RIP with your son. Some things in Islam are proper such as an eye for a eye, a tooth for a tooth, and 7 bastards for a good son.
In Afhanistan we had a hard time getting workers to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) such as steel toed shoes, welding glasses...etc. I asked them about it, the typical response was why do we care, we only live to be 45 anyway. 60 is extremely old in some parts of the world.
Good for him.
“Old” Basil probably made about thirty widows that morning, but he did take about five hundred virgins of the unemployment rolls.
I feel the same way. Just got back from the gym and would love to see the author keep up with me. 3 sets of 10 at 230 on the bench press. 3 sets of ten at 490 on the leg press and three sets each on the other equipment. Then it’s 30 minutes on the bike at level 5. I turn 65 in November.
The bad news is they won't be able to afford to retire until they are 85.
My Mom’s father informed me at one point when I was screwing something up and not listening that “I wasn’t to big, and he wasn’t to old, to kick my ass” and my two word reply at the time was “Yes Sir”... He was about 74 at the time as I recall. I believe he probably could have carried through on it til he was on the north side of his 90’s.
