I hope he drops out of the Repub nomination race, but I won’t give him crap for this. George W. Bush threw up in the lap of some dignitary - it happens when humans are involved.
Actually, that was George H. Bush who threw up on the Japanese Prime Minister in Tokyo.
CNN had received mistaken information that George H. Bush had died shortly after the incident.
The CNN anchor interrupted another story he was doing and started saying in an excited voice, “This just in....”
Just then, a voice off camera, knowing that George H. Bush was alive and well, started shouting at the anchor, “STOP! STOP!” And the anchor stopped speaking before he announced the “death” of President George H. Bush.
The anchor then said to the camera, “We almost reported some disturbing information about President Bush,” or similar words. It was bizarre.
That was George H. W. Bush, and a more dignified person it would be hard to find. But, yeah he totally barfed in the lap of some Japanese Pol at some super fancy dinner.
It wasn’t the food, let me hasten to add!
A friend told me a funny story about a similar incident he saw on the NYC subway once.
Rush hour, packed train to Brooklyn and some poor gal suddenly throws up into the lap of this extremely orthodox Jewish man who is sitting in the seat in front of her. He looks up at her and asks, not unsympathetically, “You didn’t get a warning?”
