there needs to be a “not guilty by insanity, but still accountable/responsible” charge.
what is needed is a guilty but insane plea. in the court system.
PTSD? he was never in combat. I do think he’s insane thought.
My friend too. very very nice guy
i could go for that. as long as there’s still accountability somewhere in the charge.
He saw no combat? Well that’s just too freaky.
What the hell is his excuse?
“Is PTSD to blame?”
Absolutely NOT! Routh the murderer is to blame.
Most of the vets I know who suffer from BONA FIDE COMBAT-RELATED PTSD become practically catatonic with fear when they are having a bad episode. They are not in any shape to commit murder.
PTSD has become a wastebasket diagnosis for non-combat vets who are trying to game the disability system.
This guy is most likely a paranoid schizophrenic.
For those wanting to learn more about this asshat, consider going to Walid Shoebat’s website and reading his take on the killer. He strongly suspects the killer was a muslim convert, and sympathetic to terrorist prisoners while he was a prison guard at Bilad Airbase in Baghdad.
Walid Shoebat is a former muslim now serving Jesus Christ.
BTTT.
a jail sentence with treatment and maybe some leniency in cases where the person sought help for the problem but was ignored. when I say leniency I am saying that the person is at the mercy of the court. if you make a guilty but insane plea there is no going back to the court room when the person who makes that plea still has to serve serious time.
yeah, that might work.
“”My friend too. very very nice guy””
I did look for info on him after I posted and he did appear to be a very nice guy as you say. Too bad more hasn’t been written and known about him. There was confusion about whether or not he himself had been a veteran. Some info said he was and others said not. This had to be a terrible loss for his wife and family. AND friends. Losing a good friend is difficult at any time but to lose one this way had to be devastating. I’m sorry that you had to lose him.
Chad Littlefield was my friend for 15 years. He was a sportsman, his wife a assistant principal in the Midlothian School District. Chad loved all kinds of fishing and hunting, his pet dogs were bird dogs he trained. Sad they died trying to help a crazy guy.
