The Arizona Republican, who opposed President Barack Obama in the 2008 election, joined the president and other bipartisan U.S. dignitaries in Saudi Arabia Tuesday to pay respects to the late King Abdullah and meet the new leader of the oil-rich nation, King Salman.
Meanwhile, McCain said he's holding a hearing in the Armed Services Committee Wednesday morning to shine light on the negative impact of the sequestration spending cuts on the U.S. military.
"We need to repeal sequestration," he saidadding that this budget mechanism puts the military at risk of not being able to properly defend the nation.

King Abdullah died on January 23. Four days later Obama cut short his trip to India to go to Saudi Arabia. Yet when he did not go to Paris for the Charlie Hebdo march, one of the reasons cited was there was not enough time to plan security, etc. I wonder if anyone at CNN noticed?
