People who want Netflix, HuluPlus, Viki and DramaFever can watch what they want.

They’re not even tied to a particular channel.

People will abandon cable for more economical alternatives. Netflix and HuluPlus cost $16.00 a month combined, half the cost of the standard cable package.

Streaming Internet TV is the future of TV and cable risks implosion by being too greedy.

“Streaming Internet TV is the future of TV”

unless Comcast with their billions and influence can somehow chokeoff bandwidth/speed to those using Netflix and Hulu.

True and true. But...

If the video creators cannot find a viable way to pay for the creation of videos, they will cease creating videos. Then, the 'streaming Internet TV' will be filled with the amateur Youtube videos. Those may be entertaining, but they will lack development that regular TV series have.

I got notified on my last cable bill that the next on will include a few $$$ increase next month. That is on top of two increases the past 2 years for about $10 each. They have added a couple of 'old movie' commercial free channels, and they have also added several new FoxSports channels.

Even so, with some 200 channels, many evenings I find ZERO worth watching. That is when I switch over to the ROKU box and watch Netflix or use PLEX to watch some of the TV series I have saved on hard drives.

Several other 'streaming services' have not been able to make it and have or will go out of business.
