A woman who had been working in Sierra Leone with Ebola patients was taken off a United Airlines flight at Newark Liberty Airport in a hazmat suit Monday afternoon and transported to Hackensack University Medical Center after she exhibited a high fever and vomited on the flight, government officials and law enforcement sources said.
The woman was identified only as a health care practitioner by authorities.
That our government refuses to institute this basic safeguard, apparently due to some misplaced altruism, is insane.
“My goodness...how horrible for the innocents on that aircraft. What a nightmare.
This is an issue that could be made MUCH safer simply by restricting travel to/from the Ebola hotspot region. “
Everyone on that plane were ‘innocents,” even the passenger who was throwing-up. What ever her situation is, she is woman, most likely an American citizen who is ill.
And at this time, Belgium is not an Ebola hot spot region and cutting off access to West African nations might be counter-productive as it would make it more difficult for American health care workers to eradicate the current Ebola breakout.
