Going to see it Tuesday.
My 17 yr old son and his friends are going to see it Monday, they are out of school that day. I think I’ll go see it too and I rarely go to the movies . . . I bet last 10 movies I went to were DISNEY.
Just got back. Place was packed and everyone left in complete silence. I’m still choked up. It was very well done.
Meanwhile, obama screens “Selma” at the White House and it doesn’t help.
“That could put the war movie on track for the biggest January opening ever. “
I thought this movie opened in December.
.
Saw it this afternoon and it was fabulous. Very, very well done.
Opened in select theatres on 12/25 and went widespread 01/16.
Thanks.
Great movie. It was a packed house, and when the movie ended people left in absolute silence.
Great movie, IMHO. Packed theater where I went. Applause from the audience at the end and then silence. I rarely go to the theater. Last time I went it was to see Lone Survivor.
Dawning fireproof suit now.....
Just saw it, and exactly the same response in my theater, except for the sounds of a few people sniffling. If you can get through it without tearing up, I’d say there’s something wrong with you.
I saw and liked this as well. I posted yesterday how impressed I was by Clint’s direction and realism.
One thing I did not write earlier is this; the most significant theme or background music to this movie is best described as rapid blasts of gunfire. The timing and the volume of these gunblasts was enough to make a viewer jump out of their seat at times. The gunfire was multidirectional, meaning it wasn’t always emitted from the same speakers on the same sides of the theater.
I don’t go to the movies much anymore, but I’m definitely going to go see this one. Eastwood’s proven to be a top flight director over the years.
Only in limited release, in New York and LA, for awards consideration. From what I hear, it did extremely well, despite the fact it was playing in very liberal cities. This is the film’s first weekend in wide release.
Well worth it....
I saw it tonight in a sold out suburban DC mall theater. I always have to close my eyes during firefights. Such a hero and patriot. The audience applauded where appropriate and filed out in silence, too.
“Once you feel you know everything, you’re done.
You’re either repetitive, boring, or both.”
Clint Eastwood
Man, from directing musical numbers in Jersey Boys (also great) to this movie, Eastwood is a marvel. The guy just gets better with age.
