I doubt the baby is going to eat off of it.

A toddler can gross out a supermarket seat all by himself with his leaky poopy urine-soaked diapers, drool, runny nose drip, and sticky dirty fingers. Kitty is not any less sanitary than baby excrement/detritus.
If you are owned by a cat or cats, as am I, your first thought is of your cat getting some messy baby germs!
