Haven’t seen any of the Best Picture noms, but will see American Sniper this weekend. The others? Meh.
Let’s not kid ourselves, this is all part of the marketing strategy to get the Best Picture Award for Selma (The cruci-fiction of LBJ for Vietnam). This strategy is relying strongly on the white guilt vote, which is so prevalent amongst the Hollywood effete.
Have seen ‘The Imitation Game’. Very interesting story ‘based’ in actual events. Heavy handed with the ‘anti-gay agenda’ in the 40’s-50’s in Britain. I have a hard time with people who judge history by the mores of today. That being said, I would recommend it, but then go read the actual history.....the movie is close, but not altogether true to history.
