Formerly the "Fans of Quinn and Rose Discussion" thread. We still hold out hope that our favorite talk show hosts will come back on the air - and all indications are that they will be, very soon! As we wait, our friendly group will still meet to start the day. Wednesdays are my least favorite day at work - seriously a day filled with useless meetings.

Well I was waiting for my Comcastic rep to show up. Instead they called, apologized and told me they now want to replace ALL of our equipment and possibly the wiring.
Until they do we are cable/internet challanged. Sux!
I am this close to going to Verizon even if it’s only DSL.
Or maybe I can a wireless internet with something better then 5 mbs service.
FWIW until recently when Comcast was working we were getting 20mbs reliably and peaking at 40-50 mbs. When we picked up the phone service the modem was replaced with an Arris modem/router. Piece of poo. Never was able to port forward.
That’s also when Comcast pushed that parallel wireless making our place as well as anyplace else with an Arris modem/router a hotspot.
At least we should be getting our bill reduced when/if they get things back together. I’ll believe that when I see it.

I just checked - we have an Arris modem too. And I believe we are a hot spot as well.
Spent yesterday checking out antennas. I want separated from the cable so badly I can taste it! Still stuck with comcast internet though. :-/ Is 25 mbps a good speed? Son and wife moving in with us soon. In total, we’ll have three tv’s, three computers, two tablets. I want 50mbps, and the comcast person I chatted with told me about their 50 mbps, but I don’t see it on their website. They go from 6 to 25 then to 105. You know - the whole “bundling” thing.
Comcast smoke and mirrors. I hear they have levels that they don’t advertise that you specifically have to ask for.
No problem about the rant; I feel your pain!
25 mbs has been fine for us...until they changed the router to that Arris thing.
Comcast told me yesterday that they wouldn’t be out until Wednesday next week! Seems t hey are having supply problems with some of the equipment they are going to replace.
On top of that they said our bill is going up! Insult to injury!
Cable TV is going away!

No matter what BO claims the economy is collapsing! Businesses are closing. Two more years is TOO MUCH TO STAND!
Meanwhile yesterday morning on the way home I saw what I thought was some trash that had fallen from the curb into the street right behind our apartment building.
Was going slow but had to swerve and that’s when I saw it was a deer. It was in the street next to the curb with it’s legs fold under it like it was bedded down. It was alert, looked at me like nothing was wrong.
It’s a narrow street and not a good l=lace to stop but I did and tried to back up. Couldn’t see the deer in the mrrors so I figured it had gone.
Then I got to thinking it had been hit and since it was just around a bend someone else might hit it. I debated calling the police but when I saw several other cars going the other way I figured everything was OK.
About an hour and a half later mrs p6 was leaving and I was getting into bed when we heard three “pops.”
Turns out the police had been called and they had to shoot the deer.
Your deer tale makes me sad. I remember something similar around here several years ago. Poor thing was in the middle of the road. Trying desperately to get up. Back legs not working. Everybody driving around it. I cried, literally. That was several years ago, and I can’t forget it.

I want to try it, but Mr S just says it’s pointless. I’m irritated because it’s worth trying. Maybe we’ll get none, maybe we’ll get a couple. I want to try it anyway. Isn’t he even curious??
We had spaghetti the other night. Used Del Grosso sauce. My husband said it seemed like the jar was smaller and less sauce in the pan. He was right.
The economy is NOT recovering. I’m been nagging and nagging for several years now about getting our supplies built up, but he just humor me and it’s frustrating. I’m in a bit of a panic over it. Two more years of obama is going to be the demise of this country. And who is standing up against him? Definitely not congress.
He’s probably blackmailed every one of them. It’s the Chicago Way you know.
