MANILA, Philippines – Taking part in one of the activities during Pope Francis’ visit to the Philippines next week? Add firearms to the list of things you are not allowed to bring.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday, January 9, said firearms will be banned in the 9 areas the Pope will visit during his 5-day stay in the country.

The order was made by PNP Office-in-Charge Police Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina through a memorandum issued to the National Capital Region and Eastern Visayas police chiefs.

The ban applies to all civilians with gun licenses, as well as uniformed personnel (such as the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines) who are in civilian attire, the PNP said.

It also applies to those with permits to carry firearms outside their residence.

Yeah, in sure that all people who want to kill the Pope will heed that ban. /s

If you are willing to take someone’s life, I’m 99.9% sure that you will have no qualms about breaking rules.

The important thing is to STAY TRENDY.

This is brilliant: Advertise to every jihadist or other nutjob that almost nobody around the Pope will be armed.

Gun free zones always work.

Some people of course, have different agendas about them.

Laws are only for the law-abiding. Criminals are free to do as they wish.

I do not want to imagine the result of the assignation of The Vicar of Christ.

The “Ruling Class” will not be able to restrain “we the rabble”, any of our self appointed betters that tries will experience first hand the disapproval of the rabble.

LOL First put on all social media that you are Catholic and then that you will be spending the entire day away from home and taking all your neighbors with!! NOT!

Can you imagine the opportunities for thieves? I would get the heebe jeebees just being in a large crowd any more. But then I am cynical. :-)
