No Piazza I guess.

Piazza earned it.

All deserving.

My suspicion is Piazza will be plagued by steroid rumors.

He earned it with a needle. He was an unathletic below average college player drafted in the charity rounds by his father’s best friend who was overmatched in rookie ball, but somehow arrived in spring training his second year in the pros looking like Hulk Hogan, and the rest is history.

Piazza was never caught or implicated though, unlike Bonds, McGwire, Clemens and others.

I do believe Piazza and just about everyone else at that time were PED users.

I think a lot more still use them now than we know.

It was widespread. It started in the late 80’s and got worse as time went on. As for Piazza, my information comes from friends who were in the Mets’ organization at the time. My friend was told by Steve Phillips himself that Piazza was a PED user. Today you will hear Phillips lie on radio and TV that he never suspected that Piazza was a steroid user.

I saw Randy Johnson's first no-hitter against Detroit Tigers in June 1990.

Very exciting.

He definitely deserves the HOF.

Mattinly’s last chance and he did not make it.

He had the talent without a doubt, but his injuries did not let him do it over time. As a manager, he is the poster child that a great player does not make a good manager. He had the baseball experience, but lacks intelligence. It is no coincidence that good managers like Joe Madden and Joe Girardi attended academically inclined colleges.

Biggio … the first to enter the Hall as an Astro.

(no, not the first in the Hall that ever played for the Astros … the first to enter as an Astro)

Congrats, Biggio!!

I didn’t know it was Matyingly’s last chance.

Thanks for the info.

In my opinion he doesn’t deserve it.

Good for Randy! He deserved it big time! When the Mariners started a line up of: Randy on the hill, Griffey Jr. in CF, Alex Rodriquez at Short, Jay Buhner in Right and Edgar Martinez at DH, (when all 5 of those player’s careers were at 100% full throttle, 1996-1999 or there about), well just fun to watch play the game.

I wonder if Nolan Ryan will give Randy’s induction speech, he was largely responsible for changing Randy’s pitching style and made him the monster he was.

Don just couldn't drive the ball to left-center. As a Yankees fan from my youth, I must have seen him leave fly balls short of the fence in left-center maybe a hundred times.

That’s a good point, gator. I once stood next to Randy at the Cincinnati airport men’s room urinal. The guy is really tall and he was kind enough to look straight ahead into the wall. lol

Good point; Randy did think highly of Nolan.

And they just killed the Rangers game in game out during that time.

Sadly, at least one seagull will not be there to share Randy Johnson’s big day. See YouTube.

Like Brady Anderson's 50 homerun season.
