Well Good morning a day late!

Busy in the mornings at home again for a few days. Will post when I can.

BIG disappointment in the House as Boehner retains speakership. Not totally unexpected though. Too many RINOs.

Payback for opposing him has already started.

At least the PA Farm Show starts this week. Live on PNC channel starting Saturday. Opening of the food court is Friday.

Not sure what to make of the State Legislature. It was disgusting watching Corbett and Wolfe sitting together like old chums!

Hope everyone is warm and not having too much trouble on the roads. A few more COLD days then we should warm up and be seasonal through the end of the month. A few warm days look to be ahead as well.

~ 73 DAYS TILL SPRING! WOO-HOO!

Oh, I almost forgot.

Did you see the story about an Indiana County woman suing the police? Sounds fishy to me but who knows.

WOMAN SUES POLICE OFFICER, BOROUGH ALLEGING ABUSE
Indiana woman claims officer assaulted her during traffic stop

1/6/2015

AnIndianawoman has filed a federal lawsuit against Indiana Borough and one of its police officers, accusing the officer of assaulting her during a traffic stop in November of 2013.

24-year-old Karissa Smith claims in the suit filed in U.S. District Court that her constitutional and civil rights were violated by Officer Scott Schuller, that she suffered numerous scrapes and bruises and a chipped tooth, and that she suffered psychological trauma. She also says she was forced to spend a night in jail, and contends that the borough knew about the incident and failed to discipline Schuller. The suit says Schuller’s behavior was “aggressive, violent, aberrant and unconstitutional…” and “did nothing to protect the public.”

Smith was pulled over on the evening of November 1st, 2013, driving her father’s van with an expired California registration. She claims Schuller pulled her out of the van and after she asked to call her father, he struck her multiple times in the thighs with his flashlight, causing her to fall to her knees. She says she chipped her tooth when Schuller “slammed her face to the pavement.”

Smith was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, simple assault, obstruction of justice, having no rear lights, failure to yield, operating without insurance and operating without required registration, but District Attorney Pat Dougherty withdrew all charges before her preliminary hearing.

The suit seeks more than $500,000 in compensatory and punitive damages, plus legal fees. Indiana Borough has not responded to the lawsuit.

Morning! Yep, I’ve been hearing about the woman who is suing the borough! Don’t know what to make of it. I don’t know the officer OR the woman. IMHO, it sounds like she’s taking advantage of the current climate against the police! Why wait until now to file a lawsuit? I wonder why the DA withdrew all charges? That would have been done around the time of the crime.

Our house - old as it is - is quite comfy. I’m happy we got the new furnace a couple years ago! Mr S and I both got new boots in November, and I got a much-needed new coat!
Can’t wait for spring. We’ve already been checking seed displays at Lowes! Also got several seed catalogs!

Thanks for the info about the Farm Show! I loved the sheep
-shearing last year! That was really interesting to watch!

I’d better get todays thread started!
