Ireland says the United States will permit imports of beef from the country—the first European Union state allowed to resume sales since the mad cow disease scare over 15 years ago.

Simon Coveney, Ireland’s minister for agriculture, food and the marine, issued a statement Monday announcing that access to the lucrative U.S. market came after American authorities inspected Ireland’s beef production systems. Authorities estimate annual exports could be worth at least €25 million ($30 million). …

Of all things to import I doubt we need much outside beef. That said ranchers are cutting stock due to high costs and taxes in land.

Why do I get the feeling this has something to do with Obama trying to taint the US (again) since his little ebola scheme seemed to fail.

In Great Britain they feed their cattle the ofal from dead cattle and sheep. This is what started mad cow. It also gave the beef a weird dog food flavor.

I know there are grass fed butters and cheeses from Ireland. Maybe the beef is grass fed?

I lived in the U.K. for three years during the early 80s. As such, I cannot donate blood, due to the mad cow problems extent in the country back then.

It’s interesting to note that the gays can not give blood, but I cannot.

And they’re planning on allowing blood donations from gay blood donors.

Something is wrong.

So I’ve been buying Irish butter and cheese all along. If beef was banned, why not all dairy products? Cows are cows, are they not?

I was stationed in Germany in the early 1980’s and cannot donate due to mad cow scare. The ban began in 2002 (I gave right after 9-11).

If beef imports from Ireland are allowed, and the faggies are allowed into the blood supply, shouldn’t mad cow no longer be a disqualifier for the rest of us?
