There is little mention if Ritalin in the Junk Science propaganda you have posted, nor is there any evidence of causation between Ritalin and school shootings.

How about if we blame the shooters for their actions and we uphold the Second Amendment?

Can you cite more than one school shooting that was caused by the shooter taking Ritalin?

Can you cite one shooting that was caused by the shooter ingesting marijuana?

Some people can’t do without nannyguv holding their hands, even here on FR.

“Can you cite one shooting that was caused by the shooter ingesting marijuana.”

No, but all school shooting were caused by the shooter being an evil person.

Think Ritalin and recent school shootings.

When I think Ritalin I think legally prescribed FDA approved. Are we talking a lifetime ban on gun ownership for people taking legally prescribed psychotropics or just while they are taking the Rx? I wonder because sometimes people get flakier after they stop using Rx psychotropics than while they are on them.

not I.

Don't like it? That's fine. Don't buy it. Stay the hell out of my business, and don't even think about trying to mess with my 2A rights. I will die to protect them.

I don’t want your guns, FRiend; We can agree to disagree on a topic without it getting personal, can’t we?

Regarding “Alcohol is not federally prohibited.”

I only have to answer that neither is gun ownership - “the right to keep an bear arms shall not be infringed.” My drug is better than your drug so no guns for you!

Should we take away arms rights to men who overindulge in Cialis or Viagra and then perform acts of granny-abuse?

You don't want my guns, but you DO want me to get a permit. I don't think so. Free men don't ask permission. Not to own/bear arms OR to choose what one ingests, whether you like it or not. I can agree that, if you don't like MJ, that's fine. I support that. So don't buy it. But don't suggest you have some right to demand that I or anyone get a permit should they choose to partake.

And voters there made stupid decisions that they have to live with.

You anti-legalization folks think that somehow, upon legalization, the users just showed up. Let me clue you in on something - the voters merely legitimized something that has been going on for many, many many decades. It's a horrible thing, I know. What with having those legal stores checking your kids ID instead of them getting it from the street corner dealer who doesn't care how old they are.

Why do you make a point about checking the ID’s of kids?

Are you saying that we should NOT sell marijuana to those under 18?

If so, why?

I want my cannabis card back to back with my CCW.

Screw anybody who doesn’t like that.

We should NOT sell MJ to anyone under 21 - we SHOULD treat it just as we do alcohol, in every way. The street corner dealer WILL NOT check your kids' ID. Thus far, the shops here in CO have a sterling reputation - not one has sold to a minor. So you tell me, would you rather have a legal shop that checks your kids' ID, or an illegal street corner who doesn't care? Cuz the street corner dealer is what we had before and, yes, we do still have some. But for the most part, the street dealers have had to reduce prices and, in some cases, the reduced prices are slowly reducing the amount of trade done in the black market.

Screw that! I don't need a permit for either. Free men don't ask permission and, trust me, I don't.

So there we have it.

~Gotcha~

You can label me as anti-legalization, but you see how that label fits you too. You don’t want it legal for minors.

But you don’t say why. Is it dangerous in any way?

hmmmmm?

At least I’m consistent. I say its dangerous for minors AND adults.

Are you? So are you calling for booze to be legal for minors, or illegal for everyone?

Don’t believe I mentioned booze.

Perhaps you’re good enough to show me my post on that.

"Some people can’t do without nannyguv holding their hands, even here on FR."

Right.... It's like laws and government are some sort of security blanket. Whenever they 'FEEL' bad about something, or have a problem with something, they just want to 'throw' government at it. Even though it won't fix a dammed thing, and it usually creates 20 MORE problems, it makes them feel better about themselves.

Hell. Last night, right HERE on FR, there was a discussion of the guy that killed the two NYPD officers. Talking about how he used a social media app that people use to identify where all police are. One "FReeper" actually said the app should be shut down, and the developers of it thrown in jail!?? (sounds like the 2nd coming of McCain or Peter King).

That's the same logic used to go after firearm manufacturers for shootings! It's sad/shocking to see fellow FReepers speaking in such ways. If I begin seeing too many examples of such thought, I'll leave this place, even after being here for a decade.

Here's a link to the referenced posting.

If I were a mod, I would have purged that one with prejudice, and I wouldn't do such things for trivial reasons.
