I apologize for beating up on the couple in the original story who are, after all, married. What really drives me crazy is all the stories in the NYTimes that go like this: “LaShonda was one year into her community college program when she discovered she was pregnant with twins...” There isn't even a mention of the father of this child! It's as if pregnancy has become an airborne virus that women are helpless to avoid. This woman sleeps with unknown men and we taxpayers are footing the bill.
A few years ago, we crossed the Rubicon: more than 50% of babies born to woman under 30 — women of all races and ethnicities — were born out of wedlock. We are doomed.
