Firstly, you must have failed Reading Comprehension in grade school. I had no problem with labeling a gay priest as “Queenie”; I simply was skeptical of the assertion that said “Queenie” honors his vow of celibacy. If anything, my skepticism makes me obviously a critic of political correctness.

Secondly, if you don't know who the original “Uta Hagen” was, at least research it. Once you do, you'll realize that a poster who posts as “utahagen” is more likely to be female than male.

Thirdly, I'll cop to this: I don't care whether people who break basic rules involving fornication compound such sins with the sins of contraception and sterilization. (I acknowledge that the couple in the post you are referring to was married. In that case, I simply lost patience with their dependence on the government and their elation at being pregnant with a child THEY themselves could not support. Had they even been sheepish, I wouldn't have recommended sterilization. And, by the way, ABSITINENCE is an option for married people, as well as for single.)

But getting back to my weariness with fornicators who don't marry since the woman is pregnant and who continue to mindlessly reproduce...if God is going to punish me for an exasperated post that assert people like this should be sterilized, well, very few will make it to Heaven.

As someone who is opposed to abortion, I care about whether pro-life arguments are effective, and the real point of my post is that that the post to which I was responding would repel 90% of even pro-life readers. People like me/us are sick of working 80 hours a week to have our wages stolen by people who should abstain. If your response to that is, “God will punish you”, I'll assert that you don't REALLY care about making abortion illegal; you care only about setting yourself up as a critic of prolifers who are not sufficiently Catholic for your taste.

So, keep insulting people like me and you'll find yourself in a room with about twenty equally self-righteous people who have litmus tests for other pro-lifers. You'll feel smugly good about yourself, yet you'll won't see abortion significantly curbed in your lifetime.

You really stick to the conservative script and thinking.
It would seem from the aggregate of your responses to me that your conservatism is your biggest filter over Catholicsm in your life. Conservative outlets/media influence our thinking as well as does the Bible and Catholic TV/Radio. Most assuredly, I lack no comprehension, but I am trying to get through to you. And yes, well I have tried, but your not really there. Your wrapped up in your politics and every reply back to me is mostly about your politics, or the situation of the couple or the article, and or me personally and my grade level or lack of comprehension(several times on that one).

All that I have said to you has nothing to do with politics, welfare, laziness, non-Christians couples, the USCCB or what have you. Its all about Catholicism and Gods wisdom and knowledge over and above what our personal conclusions may be.
“Put on the mind of Christ”.

When you talk and promote sterilization and contraception, the way you do , no respectable priest, nun, serious Catholic or saint in heaven would talk that way. It is sinful—mortal sin. What you end up doing is promoting and evangelizing about contraception and sterilization with comments like that. Your helping to desensitize others to those ills and evils. Those evils are part and parcel of the culture of death. “Put on the mind of Christ”.

Much like some of the Catholic guys and gals I know when reading gossip about this or that celebrity couple and such who are having marital problems would say....”If I was so and so’s wife/husband , I’d divorce his/her arse”....well divorce is not something to be promoted like that either to whomever is listening to you, most especially if you are a Catholic. Marriage is a lifetime commitment, there are no easy outs and then try to make your life right with serial marriages aka serial polygamy.

Catholics with these kinds of comments about divorce are really showing that their thinking is influenced by the culture and they have not learned to segregate their mind from the culture or at least not enough. Sure that celebrity couple is agnostic or protestant, but we(Catholics) dont or should not carry those attitudes of divorce which are against Jesus’s very words and promote them to others. So if you say you are Catholic and you talk like that...I’ll point it out.
“Put on the mind of Christ”.

You have repeatedly said about me that I dont comprehend, I see that in your replies you keep going back to politics and the couple in question and this thing and that thing. While all along I’m just talking straight Catholicism w/o respect to the situation you are applying it to....which is irrelevant. Much like the celebrity couple situation I just brought up...the situation is really irrelevant. “Put on the mind of Christ”.

A hallmark of a good Christian(protestants included), is to be open to criticism. However, in this day and age, most are not open to criticism these days.

Good Luck.
