The WH statement was that the president has been informed and will be kept appraised.Kept apprised of what? We know who did this, we know what happened, and we know who is responsible for stoking the anger that caused this to happen (including the guy being kept apprised of the situation, as well as his fellow travelers).

NYC churns through people. So a lot of voters never experienced the anarchy of the Dinkins and prior years. They never saw what happened to the City with relaxed policing. Now they are learning and I hope that lesson leaves a lasting impression.
