Half of Dr. Oz’s medical advice is baseless or wrong, study says

It’s not hard to understand what makes Dr. Oz so popular. Called “America’s doctor,” syndicated talk-show host Mehmet Oz speaks in a way anyone can understand. Medicine may be complex. But with Dr. Oz, clad in scrubs and crooning to millions of viewers about “miracles” and “revolutionary” breakthroughs, it’s often not. He somehow makes it fun. And people can’t get enough.

“I haven’t seen a doctor in eight years,” the New Yorker quoted one viewer telling Oz. “I’m scared. You’re the only one I trust.”

But is that trust misplaced? Or has Oz, who often peddles miracle cures for weight loss and other maladies, mortgaged medical veracity for entertainment value?

He’s the usual agenda driven Oprah spinoff. You can plate a turd up with good looking garnish but it doesn’t change the smell.

To answer your question: Yes, "ain't" is a contraction. Of what????? Maybe this will help.

ain't (Pronounced /eɪnt/)

Contracton for: am not, is not, are not, have not, or has not: I ain't seen it

ORIGIN: 1706. originally a contraction of "am not" (amn't) and in proper use with that sense until it began to be used as a generic contraction for are not, is not, etc., in early 19c. Cockney dialect of London; popularized by representations of this in Dickens, etc., which led to the word being banished from correct English.

Willy Mays only batted .317....

/smile. you gets what ya pays for, maybe better to go visit your real doctor instead of taking medical advice from a tv entertainment show doctor?

I worked for 20 years for one of the world's finest, and most famous, hospitals.I learned a thing or two about physicians and surgeons, medical practice and the rarefied world of big time medicine. One thing I learned is that a physician or surgeon doesn't last long in that rarefied world unless he/she has something going on between the ears.

IIRC,Dr Oz is (among other things) a chest surgeon at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, also one of the finest, and most famous, hospitals in the world.Given that fact it absolutely bewilders me to contemplate that he'd be involved in things like this that don't have serious science backing them up.To me it's a bit like discovering that Bill Gates shoplifts from Walgreens.

Dr. Who? We don’t have TV so my first sight of Dr. Oz was at a friends house. He is a quack.
