t's not often that a power-conference school should hire a coach straight from FCS, but Coastal Carolina's Joe Moglia isn't most coaches.

The former CEO of TD Ameritrade, Moglia stepped back into coaching in 2009 as a volunteer assistant at Nebraska. In 2011, he became the head coach of the United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks, and in 2012, he got his first job as a college head coach at Coastal Carolina.

Mr. Moglia become very wealthy as the long run CEO of TD Ameritrade. He decided he wanted to try his life long dream of being a football coach. He gave a large donation to Coastal Carolina in Myrtle Beach, SC and the school hired him as the head football coach. I remember at the time people screamed the Moglia purchased himself a football program which in a sense was true. Well Moglia has turned Coastal Carolina into a FCS, aka Div I-AA, football power.

Coastal was a powerhouse before Moglia. Now the stadium is named TD stadium. Big sponsorship deal. Probably just a coincidence...
